If you’ve tried everything you can think of to make money in network marketing and still find yourself struggling to get ahead, I wrote this article for you.
Have you ever sat through a rally or award ceremony and watched other people receive recruiting or sales awards, knowing the award recipients are no smarter or more motivated than you are? Have you ever read about the huge monthly incomes of the top MLM players, and wondered, how in the world do they do it?
I know I have.
I spent over 5 years in several different network marketing programs, following every rule, and doing everything humanly possible to succeed-only to be faced by repeated failure and frustration.
Maybe you can relate to my dilemma. After all, according to some records, around 97% of us would be MLM millionaires never make it to the break even point-much less create wealth in MLM. But at this point I need to regress just a bit and take issue with that 97% statistic.
In my opinion, it is bogus.
Sure, 97% of the people who join MLM may quit before they become profitable, but that does not mean network marketing as a business model failed 97% of the people who tried it. We all join and quit things in life for a variety of reasons. For example, over 99% of the people who play football never make it to the professional levels. Yet, we do not make fun of the people who play football in high school and college.
Thousands of aspiring writers submit manuscripts to publishers everyday, yet only a handful of writers ever make it to publication. Yet, nobody ridicules the publishing industry for all the so-called “failed writers.” And as for the world of home business, many of us join to please a friend or relative, never intending to pursue the business for profit. Likewise, many join network marketing opportunities to qualify for wholesale prices on certain products.
Yet, we are grouped in this so-called grab bag of MLM failures.
In short, don’t be discouraged by the statistics. If you joined a network marketing opportunity to build a business and make money, than you are already in the minority-armed and ready to beat the odds.
After failing miserably in network marketing for more years than I care to admit, I finally came to terms with a simple fact…
… Everything I was doing was wrong.
It may have been right as far as my parent companies and my sponsors were concerned-but the proof is in the monthly pay envelope. And for many years the pay envelopes had been skinny indeed. Obviously something was wrong, and then one day a light bulb clicked on in my admittedly thick skull. It was not my fault.
At that point I determined it was my responsibility to find a better way to build my business.
I began my research on the Internet and studied everything I could find by people like Mike Dillard, Ann Sieg, Joel Comm, Travis Sago, and Robert Kiyosaki, among many others. It was a mixed batch of entrepreneurs, all recognized specialists in their areas. Combined, I was able to put together a strategy of building a network marketing business using the power of the Internet to bolster my traditional one-on-one marketing.
Eventually, my results from my online marketing efforts dwarfed the results I was getting from hotel meetings, cold calling, and pestering my warm market. In online network marketing circles this team building strategy is known as “attraction marketing.”
Attraction marketing was made popular by Mike Dillard, and has literally changed the way people build their home business opportunity online. Here are five things you can do today to start your attraction marketing campaign.
1. Join and participate in at least one forum group dedicated to your business industry.
2. Create a free blog at Blogger, Squidoo, or WordPress and share your stories and tips with the global Internet community.
3. Change the way you use Facebook and MySpace by helping others learn about home business, without blatantly pushing your program.
4. Write articles and share them online in article directories like EzineArticles.
5. Post video tutorials on sites like YouTube that teach the viewer something of value, rather than simply pushing your opportunity.
Attraction marketing works because it allows you to establish yourself as an expert in your chosen industry. As people you associate with online begin to recognize you as an authority, they will naturally turn to you for solutions, and perhaps join your network marketing opportunity.
Put the odds of success in your favor and finally make money in network marketing using attraction marketing.
