The short answer is NO, and I’m a mobile marketing strategist! After doing this mobile marketing thing for a while now, and in order to RETAIN my client’s customers and develop a Loyal Fan Base for the his/her business or profession, I’ve also needed to implemented a mobile-integrated-marketing strategy.
Even with mobile marketing as the center or foundation of the business owner, professional and/or brand’s marketing plans (and my plan too), one can create many opportunities to stay in contact and build your database of Loyal Fans, by “integrating” highly effective communication tools – Mobile Text, E-mail, Voice Broadcast, Instant Message, Social Media (Facebook, and Twitter), or what I like to call Mobile-Integrated-Marketing.
We all know, or should know, that your customers/clients are mobile and On-The-Go. We know that our mobile devices (tablets, mobile/smart phones and in some case the laptop) will be how we communicate, advertise, market and retain our On-the Go mobile users, now and in the future.
However, sometimes we need to communicate or give more information than we can fit into a text message, banner ad, website ads, etc. This is when you need to use more than a mobile text/phone/device (which can only fit 160 characters) and need to way to communicate that larger information, contest, sweepstakes, etc.?
This is why, “Mobile Marketing isn’t all you need to Retain your customers”. In order to retain your customers and create Loyal Fans of your business, profession or brand, I strongly believe you also need to have an arsenal of communication tools such as, E-mail, Voice Broadcast, Instant Message, Social Media and of course Mobile Text.
The goal is to stay in touch and promote in a manner that will cover 100% of the channels that your customers are using today. Television, radio and print can’t do this on a consistent, effective and efficient platform. mobile-integrated-marketing strategy can.
Mobile text marketing is here and will be in the future. Mobile Text Marketing is still the best avenue to start building awareness, traffic and increasing profits with a low-start-up-cost and a high ROI (Return On Investment).
However, I’ve learned that by implementing a Mobile Integrated Marketing strategy goes far beyond Mobile Text Marketing by integrating highly effective communication tools – E-mail Marketing, Voice Broadcast, Instant Message, Social Media (Facebook, and Twitter) which is where your customers are and “sharing” your sales alerts, mobile coupons, event announcements, real estate listings, medical reminders, happy hours specials, local band’s events, sports schedules/cancellations, and the list goes on and on…
In this manner, you can reach, communicate and retain your new loyal FANS, in the various avenues that your customers would like to receive your information and develop a community of followers to your brand, business, profession, or promotion.
