Central Coast
The Central Coast is basically surrounded with lots of water. Thus, you will find several beaches with crystal-blue waters and fine powdery white sands. But perhaps the ultimate star will be the Great Barrier Reef, the largest so far in the world. It’s also teeming with marine life. Central Coast is very near the towns of Gladstone, excellent for scuba diving, and Bundaberg and its wineries and national parks.
Head north to travel to Rockhampton. This is the ultimate wilderness in the Central Coast, with its numerous hiking and bushwalking trails, as well as incredible lookouts. Visitors in here never fail to drop by the Capricorn Caves to see the various limestone formations that seem to glow when exposed to light and watch the live performances as Pilbeam Theatre.
Gold Coast
Thrill-seekers will surely have the time of their lives at Gold Coast. It’s blessed with a very long coastline and wonderful patrolled beaches. Most of all thousands of people would go here to enjoy the waves and the surfing breaks. In Gold Coast you will find the famous Surfers Paradise. It’s a popular chill-out destination as various performances and festivals are held here. Every night the beaches are filled with men and women shopping for bargains at the night markets.
Adventure can be had on board the off-road 4WDs or on the great rides at Dream World, WhiteWater World, and Wet ‘n’ Wild, some theme parks within the region. Be a lot closer to nature as you visit the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
Brisbane
The capital of Queensland, it’s the centre for education, politics, and economy of the region. Nevertheless, it is also a tourism and cultural hub, with hundreds of attractions worth checking out. The CBD is one of the premier districts in Brisbane. This is where you can find all sorts of restaurants, shopping centres, and entertainment complexes. Fortitude Valley, meanwhile, is Brisbane’s Chinatown with great store bargains and fun nightclubs. The Southbank Parklands has many excellent picnic grounds and is situated very near other attractions like Cultural Precinct, State Library, and Gallery of Modern Art. Explore the capital’s river inside the CityCat or the botanic gardens through a hired bike.
Sunshine Coast
North of Brisbane is another beach-filled region called Sunshine Coast. With its warm weather and laid-back atmosphere, anyone who comes in here goes home fully rejuvenated. There are also several incredible towns that make up the coast.
Young travelers will surely have fun at Mooloolaba as it’s dotted with surf shops, bars, nightclubs, and trendy restaurants. One of the interesting places to see is the Underwater World located near the wharf. Noosa is generally expensive, but with proper research, you will discover some places to be affordable and sometimes dirt cheap. Take a cruise tour all along the Noosa River and dine in its eclectic restaurant. Follow the trails around the Noosa Heads National Park or go fishing in its rivers. Scuba diving is a popular activity in Laguna Bay.
