Are you into article marketing? A lot of people are, but due to the recent changes on the internet, some people feel like article marketing isn’t as effective as it used to be. You should know that it’s still a great way to get traffic back to your website, and is also a great way to build exposure for yourself in the form of a brand.
A lot of successful online business owners have started off with article marketing and are still having success with it. When I first got started with article marketing, I really didn’t know much about what to do and how to proceed with my first article. I wrote an article, uploaded it to 1 article directory, and sat back and waited for the sales to come in.
The sales never came in.
You see I used to buy a lot of eBooks about how to market your business on the internet, and everybody was saying to do article marketing because it can get you a lot of traffic quickly to your website. I took in this belief, and started doing article marketing like a champ. One person even said that after 2 months of doing article marketing, he was bringing in about 50 new subscribers per day to his opt-in email newsletter.
It took a few years to realize that what I have been told wasn’t the whole truth. Article marketing can work for you, but you should know that you have to write a lot of them to see any significant gains in your website traffic. If you take a look at the top authors on the top article directory sites, you will see that they have thousands upon thousands of articles written and uploaded.
Once I discovered this, the light bulb in my head came on. I came up with a theory that the more articles I write, the more traffic I can get to my website. And also the higher quality that my articles are, the more people will want to take my content and post it onto their websites.
That’s when I went to work. I started off writing different articles in a variety of niches. I didn’t stick to one niche – I wrote articles about any and everything. For example, I wrote articles about golf, podcasting, offline marketing, internet marketing, body building, body language, public speaking, and a ton of other different niches. And I made a lot of money with this strategy.
The problem came when I wanted to do backend marketing. I was making some decent money on the front end, but 80% of my business wasn’t there because I didn’t have a backend marketing process to get these people to buy from me again and again.
If you didn’t already know, backend marketing will account for 80% of your sales. So 80% of my total business profits was non-existent. I was getting sales and wasting my time with article marketing for nothing.
The main point I’m trying to make here is that article marketing does work, and that you should use it in your business. I think it will be truly beneficial for you, and the more articles you write, the more likely you are to get lots of traffic to your site, and to acquire new sales. Think about this the next you write another article.
