The searchers will pick up your ad based on your keyword term – what prospects are typing in.
You pay every time someone clicks on your ad hence the term Pay-Per-Click. The more competitive the keyword the more you pay.
These ads appear at the top and down the right hand side of the search engines.
The ad should ideally take the searcher to a landing page, web site or blog that contains your offer. Remember this is a paid strategy so you will be looking for a return on your investment.
2. Article Marketing
Article marketing, or blog posts, is like writing a short story. Make it useful and compelling and people will read it. These are generally to provide information, hints and tips or even news. At the end of the article you need to provide a link directing the reader where you would like then to go next.
Your article needs to contain at least 500 words which is about an A4 page of text and submit this to a whole host of article directories being careful with those that look for duplicate content. This is easy and great for beginners.
To make this work will require writing a serious amount of articles to get the level of exposure. Writing one or two will not do it.
The advantage of article writing is that it is free and your content will remain out on the net for some time, unlike paid advertising which stops once you stop paying.
3. Social Media
Social media has taken over by storm. Most people will be familiar with social media for social reasons, but these places can also be used to market your business.
Using the social media route is a good place to be when starting out marketing on the internet. Even large companies are doing this. There are many social media sites one can go to.
It is probably worth starting out with the most popular social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Try and ensure when you set up your account to use the same account name as these can not be rectified afterwards. This helps with branding.
Be careful with this method of advertising. Remember these are social platforms and the last thing people want to see is a load of ads appearing all the time. Social media is about getting people engaged with you, pulling people to you. Once these people are following you can you start to push out your offers.
4. Content production
Content production is about other methods to provide ads out on the internet through low cost or free marketing. These ads appear beneath the paid ads within the search engines.
Another great medium to use is video marketing. Produce a great video and post this on say YouTube. Again make sure you have the right keywords/tags so the searches can find your master piece.
Combining articles with videos will help make this work. Again, though, this will require a lot of attention and massive action.
5. Relationship list building
When out there marketing, you need to create a list of people’s names and email addresses. These can be captured by people responding to your material though comments. Another way is to offer some free material on your site which is obtained by the prospect entering their details.
